Update: Mother charged with attempted murder of daughter

The London Police Service have charged a 29-year-old mother with the attempted murder of her six-year-old daughter.

At 9:04am on Thursday, October 22, 2015, the London Police Service responded to a report of a stabbing at 114 Arbour Glen Crescent in London.

Upon arrival patrol members found the victim to be a six year-old female resident of that address.

The child was transported to hospital by ambulance where she underwent surgery to treat several stab wounds.

She remains in critical condition in hospital at this time.

Also present when police arrived was the victim’s mother, 29 year old Erica Ehikwe.

She was arrested at the scene and is now charged with one count of attempted murder.

She remains in custody pending a court appearance.

The Major Crime Section continues to investigate this incident, with the assistance of other members of the Criminal Investigation Division.
