Kings top Lakers in Wallaceburg

The Dresden Kings put an end to the Wallaceburg Lakers winning streak on Wednesday, with a 6-1 win at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.

They also put an end to their own seven game losing streak.

Six different Kings scored in the lopsided victory, as John Montgomery, Carter Smith, Derek Shaw, Dillon Liberty, Isaac McLean and Derek Daly all found the back of the net.

Travis Moore had 33 saves to earn the win.

Justin Browning scored the lone goal for Wallaceburg.

George Hill stopped 25 shots in the loss.

Wallaceburg had won three straight games, and still sits in last place in the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League with a 3-13-0 record. Dresden is in eighth place, hanging on to the last playoff spot in the league with a 5-13-1 record.

Wallaceburg will be back in action on Saturday in Alvinston, while Dresden will host Amherstburg on Friday.
