It was the same result for the Wallaceburg Lakers on Wednesday night, in the debut game for their new head coach Derek Ellis and assistant coach Ryan Paxton

Wallaceburg fell to the Dresden Kings 7-3, marking the 16th consecutive loss for the Lakers.

Derrick Van Every and John Montgomery led the way for Dresden with two goals each, while Phillip Clarke, Dayne Davis, and Alex Hall also scored.

Kadin Ritchie, Alex Ritchie and Justin Melo scored for Wallaceburg.

Joel Sowinski stopped 30 shots against his former club to pick up the win for Dresden.

George Hill made 42 saves in a losing effort.

Ellis, a Dresden native, took the reigns of the Wallaceburg club earlier this week after former head coach Mark Swayze stepped down from his role after a 10-1 loss on SUnday.

Wallaceburg sits in last place in the Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League with a 3-28-0 record, while Dresden sits in sixth place with a 13-16-3-1 record.
