Trespassing and resist arrest charges

On Saturday, January 2, 2016 at approximately 7:30am, police were called to a business on Third Street in Chatham in regards to a man refusing to leave.

Once police arrived, they located the man in the restroom.

The man refused to leave the business despite being asked repeatedly by employees and police.

The man was arrested for trespassing and during the arrest he tried to push past officers and run for the exit.

The man then became non-compliant with police.

He was eventually handcuffed and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was released on a promise to appear.

The 33-year-old Walpole Island man was given a court date of January 22, 2016.
