On January 30, 2016 a 12-year-old boy attended the man’s residence to sell him a fish as well as get the money for a fish tank that the man had yet to pay for.
The man tried to pay the youth with a bag of marijuana.
The youth inspected the bag and realized it was oregano.
The youth confronted the man and as a result, the man struck him in the head.
The boy did not require medical attention.
Yesterday afternoon, police located the man and he was arrested.
A 29-year-old Chatham man has been charged with assault.
He was released pending a future court date of February 16, 2016.
