The Dresden Kings rookie standout Kyle Dawson has brought home some hardware.
Dawson was named the Rookie of the Year for the entire Great Lakes Junior ‘C’ Hockey League for the 2015/2016 season.
The awards were handed out on Monday at the league’s annual awards banquet.
The 17-year-old Florence resident was tied for second place on the Kings in scoring, with totals of 21 goals and 18 assists for 39 points in 39 games.
These numbers put him in 11th spot overall in the league.
Dawson was held scoreless on Tuesday night, as the Kings fell 2-0 to the Blenheim Blades in Game 1 of their opening round playoff series.
