The Wallaceburg District Secondary School Drama Club has been recognized at the NTS Provincial Showcase held at York University.
In a post shared by Walpole Island First Nation officials, the drama club was awarded the “Spirit of the Festival” honour for its production of “The Way Home,” an original play written by Tyler White in collaboration with the WDSS student ensemble.
Officials said the award recognized the passion, teamwork and dedication demonstrated by the cast and crew.
Several students also received individual honours during the showcase.
Olivia Lane received the “Best Cinematography” award, while Angel Williams earned “Best Performance.”
Lucas Greenbird was also recognized for his work as stage manager and received a banner honouring his contribution.
“Bravo to everyone involved!” Walpole Island officials stated.
