Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers remain out on Highway 401 at this time, assisting with vehicles in the ditch and median throughout the afternoon.
While the roads mostly appear bare and wet through the Chatham-Kent area of the highway, motorists are advised to slow down, drive according to the road conditions and leave ample room between you and the vehicle ahead of you.
There are slushy and icy sections in some areas.
Chatham-Kent OPP is urging motorists to be cautious of officers and tow trucks that are out on Highway 401 this afternoon attending to vehicles in the ditch and median along the highway.
Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures both eastbound and westbound throughout the afternoon to facilitate the removal of vehicles along Highway 401 through Chatham-Kent.
