A woman is facing life threatening injuries after a crash on the 401.
Chatham-Kent OPP officials say on Saturday April 30, around 3 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information of a single tractor trailer collision on Highway 401 near Bloomfield Road.
Chatham-Kent OPP along with Emergency Medical Service (EMS) responded to scene and upon arrival observed the transport truck which had crossed through the centre median, travelled across the eastbound lanes, rolled over and came to rest in the south ditch of Highway 401.
A lone female driver of the vehicle sustained serious life-threatening injuries as result of the collision.
The driver was transported to hospital by EMS and then air-lifted for further advanced care.
Highway 401, Westbound at Bloomfield Road and Eastbound at Queens Line remains closed for the next 4-6 hours for investigative purposes.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators have been requested and are at scene attempting to determine the causation of the collision.
