I didn’t much like Spring in the past… until now.
I didn’t like the rain, the mud, the cool weather….
As I get older, I’m really starting to appreciate it. Spring, that is.
I LOVE seeing the green on the the sides of roads around the County, instead of that yuk brown.
I LOVE seeing the Magnolia trees in full bloom as I drive around town, Margaret Ave. in particular.
I LOVE the new life…baby birds in nests, rabbit babies, goslings on the waterways… and even squirrel babies.
I LOVE the new life in the plant world – flowers blooming, trees starting to bud green… and even getting to cut my lawns again. And digging up my flower beds and flower pots and flower baskets, ready for planting.
I LOVE having my veggie garden already roto-tilled and ready for planting.
I LOVE seeing the farmers plowing, fertilizing and getting ready to make this area even greener, and oh, so productive again.
I LOVE the fact that I’ll have my boat out of storage very soon, and can spend so many hours cruising our fabulous waterways with my dog, a cooler, my camera and sometimes a fishing rod.
I look forward so much to fresh flowers, fresh veggies…
And I look forward even more to backyard bonfires and barbecues.
Hurray for Spring….and a double HURRAY for SUMMER!!! 🙂
