Robert Leo Jacques Chatel of Wallaceburg

Robert-Chatel-1463937467A resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully in his 72nd year, at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 21, 2016.

Robert is the son of the late Annette (Belle-Isle) and Wilfrid Chatel and step-father Jean Paul Leclerc. Treasured husband of 52 years to Bonnie (Armstrong) Chatel. Cherished father and grandfather of Aimee Saunders, Brianna and Jeff; Laurie McClure, Joshua and Denver; Dee Chatel, Nicholas, Jen, Carl and Shane. Dear brother of John (Marilyn) Chatel and Andre (Norma) Chatel. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his sister Mariette and his son-in-law Stephen Saunders. Will also be missed by his feline friend Charlie.

Robert served in the Royal 22nd Regiment with the Van Doos in La Citadelle, Quebec City and also with the Royal Canadian Regiment in London, Ontario.
After a successful career with Five Star Tool & Die, Robert went on to graduate from CAD CAM Design at St.Clair College Windsor Campus, which lead to a teaching opportunity with Lambton College as a Professor in Tool & Die and Blueprint Design.
Robert took great pride in providing for his family and his family took great pride in him.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Service in the chapel on Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 1:30 pm. Interment in Riverview Cemetery.
