Stunt driving charges laid in Dover

A Chatham man faces stunt driving charges, while his friend’s mom’s car will be impounded for a week after an incident Sunday in Dover.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say yesterday afternoon, just before 2 p.m. an officer on general patrol observed the man driving a car at a high rate of speed on Winterline Road in Dover Township.

The officer recorded the man travelling 167 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The 21-year-old Chatham man was charged with stunt driving.

His license has been suspended for 7 days and his friend’s mom’s car was impounded for 7 days as per the Vehicle Impoundment Program.

He will be required to attend court on June 22, 2016.
