$55,000 in drugs seized in Sarnia

The Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit have been conducting an ongoing investigation over the past several months into a significant drug trafficking case involving addresses in Warwick Township and the City of Sarnia.

On June 7, 2016, at approximately 6:30 pm members of the Vice Unit conducted a traffic stop pertaining to this investigation. During the stop a 48 year old female was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and breaching her recognizance. Secondary to the arrest the female was found to be in possession of over $1100.00 worth of various forms of opiate medication.

Later that evening, at approximately 8:10 pm, members of the Sarnia Police Emergency Response Team, Vice Unit, COPPS Unit, uniformed patrol and members of the Ontario Provincial Police executed a Search Warrant in Warwick Township, in the County of Lambton. A 30 year old man who resided at the address was arrested. Also present was a young child who was removed from the residence by CAS.

During the search over 13 ounces of cocaine, with an approximate street value of $36,000 was located. Also located was approximately 88 grams of crystal methamphetamine with a street value of $8,810.00, 16 -100mcg fentanyl patches with a street value of $9600.00 and $6,690.00 in Canadian Currency.

The total street value of the drugs seized was over $55,000.00

The 30 year old man is facing three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one charge of breaching his undertaking.

Both parties were held for a bail hearing on this date and the investigation is still continuing.
