While hanging out with Don Cherry and Ron MacLean, Wallaceburg’s Shaun Suisham discussed how he hopes the hockey team from his new home can hoist the Stanley Cup on Thursday night.

The Pittsburgh Steelers kicker chatted with the broadcasters and Canadian icons at the CONSOL Energy Center, as the Pittsburgh Penguins practiced on the ice below.

Suisham said he is excited to join his wife and two daughters at the arena, where the Pittsburgh Penguins could clinch the championship in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals

“We love the Penguins, we love these guys and they are playing awesome,” Suisham said.

Both Cherry and MacLean had nothing but praise for the former Wallaceburg Tartan.

“He’s a kicker, he’s a good Canadian guy and he works hard, that’s the main thing,” Cherry said of Suisham.

McLean listed off some of Suisham’s accomplishments, including his 84% career field goal success rate.
