Emergency crews were blocking the road in front of Nichols’s Funeral Home in Wallaceburg, after a hydro pole was struck.
The pole was leaning halfway over, while the hydro lines drooped down just before 4 p.m.
A transport truck remained at the scene, with the driver in the front seat.
Members of the Chatham-Kent Police Service were blocking the road on Elgin Street, between University Ave. and Camp St.
Members of the Chatham-Kent Fire Department Station #3 were blocking Lisgar Street at Elizabeth St.
Crews from Entegrus were also at the scene.
Details have not been confirmed by the authorities, however sources say it was the transport truck that hit the hydro pole.
There is no word on injuries.
