The Wallaceburg Fireworks Family Festival committee is looking for some volunteers to help out at their Canada Day festivities.
Tom Cogghe, a committee member, said the group prefers that the volunteers be at least in Grade 8 or older.
“That way if there is some high school kids than we can give them volunteer hours… local groups, organizations that want to come out and help,” he said.
“We need people to help run the barricades and set up. Take down, and different things during the day.”
Cogghe said volunteers will be needed to check in on areas during the event.
“Basically walk around and go back and forth, like gophers between. If we need materials brought over. Setup, take down, handing out cupcakes, we are going to do glow sticks as well.”
Cogghe said the group is going to have donation buckets this year.
“We are going to need people to take care of those,” he said. “Just basically be around for an extra hand if needed.”
Anyone interested in volunteering at the Canada Day festivities on Friday, July 1 can call Homeward Realty at 519-627-9933 during business hours or they can post, comment or send a message on their Facebook page.
