Chatham-Kent OPP are investigating a fatal crash just outside of Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent OPP officials say on June 30, at around 2:50 a.m., officers responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision on Highway 40 north of Dufferin Avenue.
Police officials say a GMC Jimmy, carrying two occupants, was travelling southbound on Highway 40 when it left the roadway and rolled before coming to rest in the east ditch.
One occupant was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
A second occupant was transported to hospital for treatment.
Const. Jay Denorer of the OPP told the Sydenham Current the second occupant suffered minor injuries as a result.
The investigation into this fatal motor vehicle collision is ongoing with the assistance of the Technical Traffic Collision Investigation.
Highway 40 between Langstaff Line and Dufferin Avenue will be closed for approximately 3 hours.
Names of the deceased are not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
