A wide spectrum of tunes will be played on Saturday when the Jessika Rabbit Band opens up for Sloan at the Kinstock Music Festival.
“We are actually a brand new band,” said Courtney Wells, lead singer for the group.
“The gentlemen that I play with, they had been playing in a different band and I was asked to join the group and we became Jessika Rabbit Band. We have all individually played in different bands and it all just kind of came together and it has been fun.”
The bands consists of Wells on vocals, Jean Marc Haslip on bass guitar and keys, Ryan Caron on drums and Jeff Mifflin on guitar.
Wells said they are pumped to be playing in Dresden and opening for Sloan.
“We have been prepping for this,” she said.
“We have some surprises up our sleeves for tomorrow. We have another rehearsal tonight and its going to be a great show.”
Wells said the band plays many different styles of music.
“We play everything,” she said.
“We play a broad variety. A lot of classic tunes that you haven’t heard in a long time but you remember and we have a tendency to put our own little spin on it. So everything from Patsy Cline to Adele to Amy Winehouse to ZZ Top to The Police. It’s all over the place. Classic rock, a lot of reggae and a lot of Top 40. We have some Hip Hop in there.”
We try to take classic songs and put a little spin on them.
Jessika Rabbit Band hits the stage at 6 p.m.
