Update: Chatham-Kent EMS issue statement after crash

Chatham-Kent EMS issued a statement on social media, following a crash on Highway 40 just outside of Wallaceburg.

“At approximately 10:20 a.m. today one of our paramedic crews, in an ambulance, were involved in a head-on collision on Highway 40 near Greenvalley Line in Chatham-Kent,” EMS officials stated.

“There were no patients on board the ambulance at the time of the collision. A total of three patients were transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. One patient has been airlifted to a trauma centre in London. More updates will be provided as they become available. Our thoughts are with everyone involved in the incident. Thank you to all allied agencies, ED staff and others showing their support for our community and staff. A formal media statement will be made available shortly with more details.”
