The Sombra Optimist Club, the Port Lambton Knights of Columbus and the Down River Junior Optimist Club hosted a family Fun day at Brander Park as an end of summer treat for the local children.
Highlights of the day included “Zoo 2 You” a traveling petting zoo which had a kangaroo, snakes and other small animals for the children to pet.
Peter Redmond from Walpole Island had a workshop for the children on making “tipi night lights” and free hotdogs and cold drinks were provided for everyone.
