The Chatham Kent Community Foundation is accepting applications for the South Kent Wind Community Fund.
The grant applications are being accepted until September 30, 2016.

Charitable organizations may apply for funding to support capital, operating and special one-time costs for facilities, programs and events that are related to the South Kent Wind Community Fund’s five areas of giving:
– Community: Inspiring local spirit and engagement through community events and projects.
– Environment: Enhancing community action on ecological preservation, restoration, land stewardship and education.
– Health and Wellness: Fostering individual and community health and wellness.
– Youth and Education: Meeting the needs of children and youth development through education, recreation and safety.
– First Nations and Métis: Supporting cultural awareness, the environment, health and wellness, and youth and education.

About the SKW Community Fund
The purpose of the SKW Community Fund is to help build strong and vibrant communities in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent throughout the life of the South Kent Wind facility and beyond.
South Kent Wind donated one million dollars to establish the SKW Community Fund’s endowment and will contribute an additional $10 million over 20 years to provide a stable source of community funding for the long-term.
The Chatham Kent Community Foundation is a broad-based, volunteer-driven, philanthropic organization creating, preserving and growing perpetual funds to enrich the quality of life of Chatham-Kent citizens now and in the future.
On April 23, 2013, Samsung and Pattern Energy announced the establishment of the South Kent Wind Community Fund with the Chatham Kent Community Foundation
