Let’s take a look at What is happening around the area this weekend:
– Operation Cover-Up is on-going across Chatham-Kent. This year, the collection of women’s, men’s and children’s winter coats will continue until Wednesday, November 30th, 2016. The United Way of Chatham-Kent is asking the community to take their clean, gently used coats to their local Salvation Army Thrift Stores in Blenheim, Chatham, Ridgetown and Wallaceburg. In Dresden, coats can be dropped off at McBrayne Feed and Supply Ltd.; in Thamesville at Vivian Cleaners; and in Tilbury at the Information and HELP Centre. The distribution of donated winter coats runs from Tuesday, October 11th, 2016 through Saturday, November 19th, 2016 at the Salvation Army locations in Blenheim, Chatham, Ridgetown and Wallaceburg as well as the Tilbury Information and HELP Centre. For those in need of winter coats who wish to obtain a voucher or receive more information, please contact Mary Symons at 519-354-0430 or by email at: goodneighbours@uwock.ca.
– Starting tonight, people are welcomed to join at the Legion Chapel of Maple Leaf Cemetery in Chatham for one of three, two hour cemetery tours. Tours begin at 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. or 8 p.m. and go rain or moonshine. Cost is $10-$20.
– And don’t forget this…
