Marijuana advocate speaking at TEDx event

Marijuana advocate Alan Gertner of Toronto is among the first four speakers announced for TEDx ChathamKent 2016: “Driven.”

Gertner is the co-founder and CEO of Tokyo Smoke, a modern lifestyle business that is inclusive of cannabis. A lover of technology, design and everything in-between, he most recently led a $100M+ organization at Google Asia Pacific. Gertner is a proven leader in strategy and operations, including acting as a founding member of Google’s first Global Business Strategy team.

The other presenters announced, out of an expected field of 16 speakers and entertainers, are depression survivor Adam Ludolph of Chatham, math education innovator Matthew Oldridge of Mississauga, and ‘digital nomad’ Lisa Dadd of Windsor.

TEDx ChathamKent 2016, taking place Thursday, October 20th at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre in Chatham, is an independently organized TED event that brings together thinkers from the local area and beyond to present ‘Big Ideas’ related to entertainment, technology, design, and more.
