Let’s take a look at what is going on this weekend and next week in the area:
– Daylight Savings time ends this weekend: When local daylight time is about to reach Sunday, November 6, 2016, at 2 a.m. clocks are turned backward one hour to Sunday, November 6, 2016, 1 a.m. local standard time instead. Sunrise and sunset will be about one hour earlier on Nov 6, 2016 than the day before. There will be more light in the morning.
– Knox Presbyterian Church is holding a Harvest Lunch on Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Here are mire details:
– The Sydenham Field Naturalists are exploring the Trillium Trail and Dresden Arboretum on Saturday afternoon in Dresden. They are gathering at the Old Czech Hall at 1:30 p.m. People will be discovering native trees reflecting Dresden’s rich history and natural heritage. Larry Cornelis (519-626-9591) is leading the event.
– Dresden Community Church is holding a roast beef dinner on Saturday, November 5 at 6 p.m. Here are the details:
Looking ahead to next week:
– A week from today (Friday, November 11) is Remembrance Day. Similar ceremonies to previous years will be taking place in Dresden and Wallaceburg to mark the occasion. The Wallaceburg event will begin at WDSS, before a parade procession heads over to the Cenotaph for 11 a.m. In Dresden, a parade procession forms at the Legion before making its way downtown to the Cenotaph. Watch for more specific details on the Sydenham Current.
– On Saturday, November 12 the Knights of Pythias will be holding their annual Santa Claus Parade. The parae begins at 2 p.m. Once again, watch for more details on the Sydenham Current.
