Marie Craven of Wallaceburg

marie-craven-1483693772(Grace) Marie Craven, cherished by her family and friends, Marie passed away peacefully on January 5, 2017 at the CKHA in Chatham at the age of 92.

Marie was predeceased by her husband, Jack (1996) and parents Thomas and Etta McFadden. She is survived by her children John (Debbie) of London, Barry (Nancy) of Ottawa, Janis Marie Taylor (Greg) of Chatham and Tom (Pina) of Oshawa. Marie was adored by her 12 grandchildren – Erin, Beth, Jill, Karyn, Ryan, Lynne Marie, Sheilah Marie, Maureen, Taryn Marie, Heather, Matt and Paul.

Marie enjoyed family gatherings and got to hold her latest of 11 great-grandchildren, Lydia Marie, at a celebration of her 92nd birthday in September.

Predeceased by brother Clayton McFadden and sisters Vera Benninger, Betty Bradd and Shirley McFadden. Marie is survived by sisters Greta McCauley of Waterloo and Nancy Smith of London. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

After living over 60 years on Napier Street in Wallaceburg, Marie moved into the Oaks Retirement Village as one of the first residents. The family is very grateful for the care provided to Marie by the ORV staff and for the friendships she developed there. We also want to thank the caring staff at the CKHA especially Judy and Dr. Sharngoe.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 10 – 12 noon on Saturday, January 14 with the funeral service and reception to follow at 12 noon. Interment in Dresden Cemetery.
