Nancy Griffith of Wallaceburg

1901046_profile_picNancy Jean Griffith, of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Chatham-Kent Hospice, in her 81st year.

A retired educator with the former Kent County Board of Education, Nancy taught kindergarten in Wallaceburg for many years. Nancy was also very involved in her church life working diligently in her role as elder, a member of Women’s Ministry, Bible Study leader, choir director, and pianist. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling with friends and family, reading, quilting, playing cards, gardening and doing Sudoku, crossword and jigsaw puzzles.

Daughter of the late William and Eva (Dibley) Glendinning. Beloved wife of the late Eldon Griffith (1980). Loving mother of Brenda and Chris Mann, Brian and Deb Griffith and William and Lisa Griffith. Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Laura (Joe), Mike, Seth, Samantha, Dylan (Tiffany) and Nicole and her great grandchildren: Jaxon, Luke and Bria. Beloved sister and sister-in-law of Gaele and Gary Mifflin, Bill Glendinning, Mervin Rooke, Marion Shaw, Mike and Valerie Griffith. Predeceased by a grandson Todd Griffith, brother Jack Glendinning and sisters-in-law Evelyn Glendinning, Hazel Glendinning, Helen Rooke and brother-in-law Carl Shaw.

Resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd. , Wallaceburg. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of the funeral home. Interment to follow in Riverview Cemetery.
