Bail violations and failing to attend court charges laid in Chatham and Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 7:20 a.m., the male youth attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.

The youth had been released by the court on April 29, 2024, with conditions prohibiting him from being outside his residence without his surety. The youth was alone and advised he was in violation of his bail conditions.

The 16-year-old Chatham youth was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 12:14 p.m., police located the man on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Officers confirmed the man was wanted on a DNA warrant and a probation violation warrant.

The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of June 3, 2024.

He is currently facing the following charges: failing to comply with a probation order.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:53 p.m., police located the man on Emma Street in Chatham while responding to a trespassing investigation.

Officers confirmed the man was wanted on a warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a May 2023 mischief investigation in Chatham.

The 58-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing.

He is currently facing the following charges: mischief and two counts of failing to attend court.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:05 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Elm Drive in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, the officer confirmed the man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court to have his fingerprints taken.

The 20-year-Tilbury man was arrested and released with a new court date of June 3, 2024.
