OPP officials allege: The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Chatham Detachment has charged and issued a driver a three-day suspension following a traffic stop.
On May 5, 2024, at approximately 12:05 a.m., a member of theChatham Detachment conducted stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 near the 109-Kilometer marker, Municipality of Chatham-Kent after it was found speeding.
The investigating officer determined the driver had a suspended driver’s licence, detected signs of alcohol consumption from the driver and administered a roadside approved screening device (ASD) test, registering an Alert.
As a result of the investigation the driver, a 31-year-old of London, was charged with:
– Speeding 1 – 49 Km/h over posted limit
– Driving while under suspension
Additionally, the driver was issued a three-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS).
The OPP remind motorists that no amount of alcohol or drug is acceptable to consume and drive.

OPP officials allege: On May 3, 2024, at approximately 12:05 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401 near Victoria Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, for travelling more than 60 Km/h over the posted speed limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old from Windsor was charged with:
– Drive motor vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
OPP officials allege: On May 3, 2024, at approximately 1:10 p.m., an officer with the OPP Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the Pioneer Line, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, for travelling more than 55 Km/h over the posted speed limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 17-year-old from Chatham was charged with:
– Drive motor vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
OPP officials allege: On May 4, 2024, at approximately 12:00 a.m., an officer with the OPP Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the eastbound Highway 401 near Communication Road, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, for travelling more than 65 Km/h over the posted speed limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old from Brampton was charged with:
– Drive motor vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
Anyone charged with Drive motor vehicle – Perform Stunt receives a 14-day impoundment of the involved motor vehicle and a 30-day driver’s licence suspension as per statute.
