Lambton-Kent girls remain in 1st in junior volleyball

The Lambton-Kent Cardinals junior girls volleyball team remains in first place in ‘A/AA’ loop.

The Dresden team went 2-0-1 on Wednesday, beating Blenheim and Ridgetown and splitting two games with NLSS.

Overall, the Cards have yet to lose a match and own 5-0-3 record, tops in the league.

The senior girls team is currently battling with Blenheim for second place in the ‘A/AA’ league.

They are in second place behind Chatham Christian and own a 5-1-0 record.

The Cards swept NLSS, Ridgetown and Pain Court on Wednesday night.

Tartans win in varsity girls curling

The Wallaceburg Tartans varsity girls curling team is in first place in the LKSSAA South Division.

Wallaceburg topped the John McGregor Panthers on Wednesday by a score of 7-6.

They are now 4-1 on the season.

They’ll be back in action on at the Sydenham Curling Club on Monday, when they host the Chatham-Kent #2 team.

The boys squad from Wallaceburg fell to the McGregor #1 team 7-5 on Wednesday.

The Tartans are 5th in the LKSSAA South Division, with a 2-3 record on the season.

C-K hammers L-K in girls hockey

The Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks senior girls hockey team topped the Lambton-Kent Cardinals 9-1 on Wednesday.

Megan Morehouse scored the lone goal for the Dresden team.

L-K is 0-2-0 on the year.

Lakers fall to Blades

The Wallaceburg Lakers’ two-game win streak was snapped on Wednesday night, as the Blenheim Blades came to Wallaceurg Memorial Arena and walked away with a 5-2 win.

Trevor Waller and Josh Farrugia scored the Wallaceburg goals.

George Hill made 36 saves in the loss.

Wallaceburg will host Essex in their next game on Wednesday.

Puck drops at 7: 30 p.m.
