The investigation is on-going after an overnight blaze in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police officials say last night at approximately midnight, police and fire responded to the fire at a business on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent Fire Department officials say the blaze occurred at 701 St. Clair Street – the home of Sacwal Flooring Centres.

Other businesses, including the Lighting and Accent Gallery and Ideal Decorating, are also a part of this plaza.

“There is no indication of cause at this time,” fire officials stated.

Police officials say fire crews and police officers are still at the scene at this time.

Crews were called to the scene late Saturday, just before midnight.

A portion of St. Clair Street between Maryknoll Road and Pioneer Line is currently closed to traffic.

We’ll provide more information when it becomes available.
