A man is in custody following a robbery in Thamesville on Monday night.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say last night just before midnight, a man entered the Mac’s Convenience Store located at 25 Victoria Street.

He was wearing a black hoodie, worn backwards.

The hood was covering his face and eye holes were cut out of the material, allowing him to see.

The man was also wearing black gloves and carrying a large cloth bag similar to a pillow case.

The man confronted the lone employee with a weapon and demanded cash.

After receiving money, the man left.

The store employee was not physically harmed and immediately called the police.

Police say excellent teamwork between front line officers, K9 and store employees resulted in the man being located at his house and arrested.

The 29-year-old Thamesville man has been charged with robbery, disguise with intent and two counts of theft under $5,000.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
