A purse snatcher in Chatham was arrested at Value Village on Tuesday night.
Police officials say as previously released, on February 8, 2017 just before 9:30 p.m. a woman stole a purse while at the Riverview Bingo Palace located at 497 Riverview Drive in Chatham.
The purse contained a cell phone, money, identification and personal items.
Police reached out to the community for help by releasing a picture of the woman as her identity was unknown.
Last night at approximately 7:15 p.m. the woman was at Value Village in Chatham and recognized by observant citizens who called the police.
Police arrived and located the woman still inside Value Village.
The 54-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000.
She was released with a court date of March 9, 2017
