The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has announced the appointments of Jerome Quenneville to the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Lisa Northcott to the position of Vice President & Chief Nursing Executive (Interim) (VP/CNE).

The news was shared in a press release sent to the media on Tuesday afternoon.

CKHA officials say Quenneville’s appointment as CFO follows an external executive search conducted by the search firm Waterhouse Partners.

Through this search process, CKHA considered a number of prospective candidates and selected Quenneville who has been serving in this role on an interim basis since November 2016.

“I am honoured to join the organization and champion the healthcare needs of our community,” Quenneville said.

“I look forward to collaborating with CKHA’s dynamic team while ensuring that we add value and accountability to the health system.”

CKHA officials say Quenneville brings extensive executive experience having served as President and CEO at the Sault Area Hospital and at the Wellington Health Care Alliance.

He also has extensive experience in Chatham having served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at St. Joseph’s Hospital from 1988 to 1996 and at CKHA from 1996 to 2004.

Quenneville is a chartered professional accountant (CPA-CA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce and a Master’s degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management.

As Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive (Interim), Northcott brings to this position a solid knowledge of CKHA having worked here for 29 years, a successful track record of working in partnership and teamwork with physicians and other professional staff and, above all, a deep and profound commitment to staff and to the provision of multi-disciplinary quality care, hospital officials stated.

“I’m looking forward to partnering with CKHA’s dedicated and caring team of staff and physicians as we work to achieve our shared goal of providing safe, timely, respectful, accessible, high quality care to the patients we serve,” Northcott said.

“I am passionate about building a workplace culture that promotes engagement and a true partnership between staff and physicians that fosters a shared ownership for the organization’s success.”

Northcott is a Registered Nurse with a Master’s degree in Nursing and has held numerous positions in the organization including staff nurse, professional practice, nursing unit manager, and most recently Director of Quality, Effectiveness and Inter-professional Practice.

Ken Deane, President and CEO (Interim), congratulated both individuals on their appointments and expressed his appreciation for their commitment to CKHA.

“Both Lisa and Jerome bring exceptional leadership skills and a deep loyalty to the organization,” Deane said.

“They will join Debbie Ancocik, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer; Dr. Pervez Faruqi, Chief of Staff; and Lori Marshall incoming President and Chief Executive Officer in providing strong and effective leadership as CKHA continues with its significant organizational transformation while focusing on a healthy workplace and the provision of high quality, patient-centred care.”

WHolesale changes have been taking place at CKHA last fall, when a provincially-appointed supervisor took over the leadership at the hospital.
