An arrest has been made after a robbery last week in Chatham.
Police officuals say as previously released, on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 just after 11:00 p.m. an unknown suspect entered Charlie’s Variety Store located at 310 Park Avenue East in Chatham.
The suspect demanded cash from the employee while holding a weapon in his hand.
A physical altercation ensued during the exchange of money and the employee suffered a cut to his arm.
The suspect fled the area and police were called.
Last night around 7 p.m., a 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested in Hamilton and charged with disguise with intent, possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and robbery.
He was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he has been held pending a bail hearing.
