Selkirk Bridge remains closed in Wallaceburg

The Lord Selkirk Bridge in Wallaceburg continues to be closed to traffic today and is expected to remain closed until tomorrow at 6 p.m.

The detour route for trucks is from Base Line, to Old Glass Road, to Mason Street and to Dufferin Avenue.

All other traffic is encouraged to use McNaughton Avenue, to Gillard Street, to Queen Street, to Murray Street, to Margaret Avenue and to Wellington Street.

With the diverted traffic in the heart of the community, it is exceptionally busy around town.

Lighting retrofit projects at two Wallaceburg Catholic Schools

The Board of Trustees for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board has awarded contracts totalling more than $3.6 million in school improvement work, which will be completed throughout the spring and over the summer months. A total of $327,453 has been earmarked for a Phase 3 lighting retrofit project at Holy Family and St. Elizabeth in Wallaceburg, along with three schools in Sarnia. Board officials say the work is to be completed by Energy Network Services Inc., Richmond Hill. This is part of the Board’s on-going five-year energy plan to reduce electrical consumption.
