Chatham Golden Eagles capture Queen of the Diamonds title with comeback win

The Chatham Golden Eagles U19 squad captured the 2026 Queen of the Diamonds championship this past weekend with a dramatic 7-6 comeback victory over the Brantford Bobcats in the tournament final.

The Golden Eagles completed the tournament undefeated, overcoming a 6-1 deficit in the championship game to secure the title.

Chatham struggled early against a tough Brantford squad and appeared in danger of falling out of contention before mounting a steady comeback fueled by timely hitting, aggressive base running and key defensive plays.

The Eagles chipped away at the Bobcats’ lead inning by inning as the dugout remained energized throughout the rally.

The turning point came late in the game when Chatham delivered a series of clutch hits to tie the contest before taking a 7-6 lead.

With pressure mounting in the final inning, the Golden Eagles’ defense held off Brantford’s final push to secure the championship victory and complete a perfect run through the tournament.
