The 17th annual ‘Box Lunch’ fundraiser for Community Living Wallaceburg is right around the corner.
The lunches will be delivered on Thursday, April 6 and people interested in ordering a lunch, for only $10, need to do so by March 27.
“It is pretty exciting,” said Lisa Caron, Communications and Fund Development Specialist at Community Living Wallaceburg.
“The money goes toward supporting the 400 plus people that we provide services and support to throughout the Municipality.”
Caron said they will be delivering the lunches ll over the area.
“It’s for Wallaceburg, Chatham, we go all the way to Ridgetown, we even go all the way to Petrolia, Oils Springs etc. So we go all over,” she said.
People can expect much of the same this year, compared to previous years.
“They can expect a freshly made sandwich. Your choice of chicken Caesar, ham and Swiss or veggie and it includes coleslaw, an apple, cookie and your choice of drink,” Caron said.
“It is all made that morning so it is freshly made. It is made by our staff and volunteers. The people we support all get together and get up bright and early and come in for 6 a.m. and prepare these lunches for everybody.”
Alisha Allaer, Communications and Fund Development Associate, said something new will be delivered with the lunches this year.
“We will put them in a reusable bag so you will have a lunch pail to use for the rest of your lunches for the year,” she said.
Allaer said if anyone is interested in helping out and volunteering, whether it is preparing the food at the UAW Hall or delivering the lunches across the community, they can call the office.

“Our website is clwboxlunch.com,” Caron added.
“That is where you can find the order information and tracking form. So if you are business and you have multiple people ordering you can fill out your tracking form, transfer it to the order form and send it to us. The due date is March 27. It is $10 per lunch… it includes delivery cost. The actual lunch date is April 6.”
