Readers like the NDP hydro plan

It appears our readers are liking the recent hydro plan laid out by the NDP in Ontario.

Here are the results of our recent poll:

Who has the better ‘hydro plan’ in Ontario?

NDP 45.98% (40 votes)

Conservatives 42.53% (37 votes)

Liberals 11.49% (10 votes)

Total Votes: 87

A provincial election will be taking place next year across Ontario.

The top political parties in the province have all been talking about hydro costs recently as well.

Ontario NDP leader Andrea Horwath visited Wallaceburg the day after her party announced their new hydro plan.

The governing Liberal Party also released a plan to reduce electricity bills across Ontario.

And despite Horwath saying the Progressive Conservatives do not have a hydro plan, local MPP Monte McNaughton has stated that electricity, jobs and families will be his focus in 2017.

CKHA Open House this week in Wallaceburg

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is holding a town hall/open house coming up in Wallaceburg. The event is open to the public and will be held on Thursday, March 23 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Canadian Belgian Dutch Club. This will be an opportunity for the community to personally meet the provincially-appointed supervisor, the new CEO and newly hired and appointed vice presidents and medical leadership team. For more details, check out our story here.

CKHA poll question

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has undergone significant changes since last summer, when provincially-appointed supervisor Rob Devitt took over the leadership of the local hospital. This week, the new senior leadership team is coming to Wallaceburg on Thursday for an open house/town hall meeting and people will have the chance to engage with the local healthcare leaders one-on-one.

What are your thoughts about the work done by Devitt, interim CEO Ken Deane and the rest of the leadership at the CKHA? Are you happy with the changes so far?
