Quick Facts

– The Healthy Kids Community Challenge is one of Ontario’s initiatives to support the health of our children. The Healthy Kids Community Challenge unites 45 communities across the province with a common goal: promoting children’s health through physical activity and healthy eating. The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is one of these communities and is represented under the banner of Super Kids CK!

– About every nine months, Ontario launches a new theme related to physical activity or healthy eating; two factors associated with healthy weights in children.

– During the first theme of the Healthy Kids Community Challenge, Run. Jump. Play. Every Day., Super Kids CK introduced Play Packs to Chatham-Kent libraries. Play Packs can be borrowed by any card holder and encourage active play for children. Additionally, CK Boosters funding brought five new or enhanced programs to our community, giving kids of all abilities the opportunity to get active. Thousands of kids also enjoyed free swimming and skating in our community.
