Aggressive push to sell downtown Wallaceburg building

Despite some recent activity at the former Liquidation World store in Wallaceburg, no one is set to move into the downtown building.

However, the new realtors representing the property are hoping to change that.

“We’re aggressively trying to sell it,” Tony Reed, a real estate broker with Excel Realty in Chatham, told the Sydenham Current.

“We’re working to put it in a better light… to make it look more attractive.”

Reed said Excel has been representing the owners of the building, who are a company based out of Brampton, for approximately the last month.

“We’ve taken down the paper from the windows and are cleaning it up a bit,” he said.

“We’re also leaving the lights on at night, so people can get a better sense of what is available.”

Reed said he has gotten a call within the last week from an interested individual.

“They were in Wallaceburg from out of town and inquired about the property,” he said.

The 33-year-old 17,000 square feet commercial retail, warehouse and shopping center building and property is listed on the market for $695,000.

“Located in the heart of downtown Wallaceburg and having two street visibility and access,” the real estate listing says.

“Plenty of room to subdivide into smaller units and also has a multitude of various uses (bank, beer/liquor store, call centre, clinic, restaurant, office, retail, supermarket, tavern, etc.)”
