24th Tinman Triathlon a success in Wallaceburg

Organizers are calling the 24th annual WDSS Tinman Triathlon another success this year in Wallaceburg.

Nancy Schinkelshoek, teacher at WDSS and the event organizer, told the Sydenham Current that approximately 240 participants and 91 entries took part in the event.

“That’s pretty close to our record,” Schinkelshoek said.

“We are all enjoying this beautiful sunshine that we have here today. We’re very luck to have such wonderful weather. Everybody is juts out here giving it a try and having some fun with fitness.”

Schinkelshoek said it was not just Wallaceburg students taking part in the event:

Schinkelshoek said 85 volunteers came out to help line the course and let the participants know which way to go.

She added the community support, in terms of donations, was fantastic as well.
