Pet and Hobby Parade in Dresden
The annual Dresden Kinsmen Pet and Hobby Show is taking place tonight, Friday, June 2. More details are available, here.
Kid’s Fishing Derby in Dresden
The Bob Everitt Memorial Kids Fishing Derby is taking place on Saturday, June 3, at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There are two divisions, seniors: ages nine to 12 and juniors: ages eight and under.
Everyone is welcome. There are great prizes and awards, and food available as well.
Kick Off Canada’s 150 Celebrations
The Dresden Legion will stay busy on Saturday night, as the town kicks off their Canada’s 150 celebrations. Here are some details:
Town-wide yard sale in Tupperville
The town-wide yard sale is taking place in Tupperville on Saturday. Stop by the Zion United Church from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for a bake sale, sausages, hot dogs and cold drinks for sale.
Dragon Boat Festival this Saturday in Wallaceburg
The Sydenham River will be packed on Saturday as the 16th annual Sydenham Challenge Dragon Boat Festival will take place in downtown Wallaceburg.
Brian Armitage, organizer of the June 3 event, told the Sydenham Current they are sold out, as 34 teams are set to hit the water.
“We are excited about this year because this will be the largest festival we have ever had for the amount of teams that we have,” he said.

First Farmer’s Market this Saturday in downtown Wallaceburg
The first Wallaceburg Farmers’ Market will officially open for the season this upcoming weekend.
The first market of the summer is scheduled for Saturday, June 3 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with vendors setting up shop in Municipal Parking Lot D (formerly Liquidation World parking lot).
Residents and their families are invited to join community leaders and other market supporters for the official ribbon cutting, which will take place at 10:30 a.m. on opening day.

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes on Saturday
The Walk a Mile in Her Shoe event is taking place on Saturday, June 3, rain or shine. Registration takes place at 11:30 a.m. at the Downtown Chatham Centre mall in front of Sears. The opening ceremonies are at 12:15 p.m. with the walk taking place at 12:30 p.m. It will be led by the Chatham-Kent Police Pipes and Drums. The post walk festivities take place at 1:15 p.m. People can relax and enjoy the entertainment provided by Crystal Gage.
