The Wallaceburg & District Museum is hosting three week-long summer camps once again this year during the months of July and August.
Samantha Havens, coordinator for the camps, says the camps combine fun and learning through various indoor and outdoor activities and are designed for children between the ages of six and 12.
“This year, summer camps will run on the weeks of: July 10 to 14, July 24 to 28 and August 14-18, Havens said.
“We are accepting registration for any days and weeks. Parents and/or guardians can come in or call the Museum to get more information or to register… 505 King Street or 519-627-8962. It is only $20 a day to register a child for a day filled with lots of activities and fun. Discounts are available for larger families or children registering for multiple camp days. Space is limited so parents and/or guardians are encouraged to register as soon as possible.”
Havens said the camps run from 9 a.m. 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and feature different themes each day.
“Activities and themes are chosen to suit the various interests and learning styles of our camp participants,” she said.
The Wallaceburg & District Museum is a non-profit organization and all funds raised through the summer camps go directly towards the ongoing maintenance of the local museum, its collection, archives, community events and educational programs.
“A camp day at the Museum typically consists of a variety of active games, hands on crafts, and outdoor activities, sometimes including water games, that all relate to the theme of the day,” Havens said.
