Trespassing charges laid in Wallaceburg

Police officials say in October 2016, a man was advised he was not to attend a specific apartment complex in Wallaceburg.

In the presence of a police officer, the man was removed from the address by the building superintendent of this complex.

On seven different occasions, from November 2016 until June 2017, the man attended the complex which was in direct violation of his trespass notice.

Last night around 8:05 p.m. an officer on general patrol stopped at this complex and conducted a walk-through of the building.

While there, the officer was told that the man was currently on the property once again.

The man was located at the rear of the property after jumping off the second story balcony in an alleged attempt to evade police.

He was arrested for trespassing.

A 21-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with enter premise when entry prohibited.

He was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and released with a court date of August 16, 2017.
