Meth seized during an arrest in Wallaceburg

Methamphetamine was seized during an arrest in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say back in September of last year, a woman was released from custody with conditions.

One of the conditions was to report to Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters every Monday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

On Monday, January 8, 2018 police allege that the woman failed to do this.

Due to her unknown whereabouts, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Yesterday at 4:30 p.m. the 29-year-old Wallaceburg woman was located in Wallaceburg and arrested on the warrant for failing to comply.

She was searched incident to arrest and drugs were found, police officials allege.

Therefore, she was additionally arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine).

The woman was then transported to CKPS Headquarters where she has been held for a bail hearing.
