A motivational speaker is coming to Our Lady Help of Christians Church in Wallaceburg this weekend for a pair of events.

Dan DeMatte has realized that there is truly no dream worth living for, other than the dream of heaven, organizers with the Holy Redeemer Parish Cluster said.

“Dan witnessed to his radical lifestyle when he starred on A&E’s hit reality TV show, God or the Girl,” organizers say.

“The show captured Dan’s intense discernment process between the priesthood and the married life, along with three other men. In his discernment, Dan carried an 80 lbs. cross on a 22 mile pilgrimage in order to better unite himself to the cross of Christ… the center of all vocations and the core of the Christian life. After discerning his call for three years, he heard the Lord calling him to the married life… God through the Girl as he puts it. Dan has also defended his faith on Larry King Live, the View and the Today Show.”

This Encounter Event will be held Friday, March 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Both events are the same in order to be available for more people to attend.

Tickets are $10 for adults and are free to youth.

They can be purchased from Holy Redeemer Parish Office, located at 647 Murray Street in Wallaceburg.

Tickets will also be available at the door.

“As a speaker and evangelist, Dan is very engaging, and gets the audience involved,” organizers say.

“His goal is to encourage all people to reject Sin and Satan, and to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a fearless and radical way. He believes that every person is called to be a saint. He believes that this world is in need of an intense renewal. He believes that the renewal begins with you.”

Organizers say DeMatte’s ministry and speaking goal is to start an intense renewal within the United States and Canada.

“He believes that we do not have a vocations crisis or a morality crisis but rather, we have a Holiness Crisis. What the world needs right now more than anything is more saints.”
