New Jersey man charged with speeding on the 401

A New Jersey man faces charges after being pulled over on the 401.

Police officials allege that on March 24, 2018, around 4 p.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 near Bloomfield Road when they observed an eastbound motor vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr.

The RADAR registered a speed in excess of 130 km/hr, police say.

The vehicle was stopped and upon further investigation, the male driver, a 36-year-old from Westampton, New Jersey was charged with speeding and drive motor vehicle with speed measuring warning device contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
