Principal change at Holy Family in Wallaceburg

A leadership change is coming to Holy Family Catholic School in Wallaceburg.

Deb Crawford, the Director of Education for the St. Clair Catholic District School Board, has announced several principal and vice principal transfers, which will take effect in September for the 2018-2019 school year.

“These transfers are the result of a retirement announcement from among our elementary principal ranks and follow consultations with administrators regarding future changes in assignment,” Crawford said in a press release.

The following appointments were announced at tonight’s meeting of the Board of Trustees:

Principal Assignments:

– Jennifer Morrow – Vice Principal, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, Chatham is appointed to Acting Principal, St. Agnes Catholic School, Chatham

– Mark Bernard – Acting Principal, St. Agnes Catholic School, Chatham is appointed to Principal, Holy Family Catholic School, Wallaceburg

– Phil Bedard – Principal, Holy Family Catholic School, Wallaceburg is appointed to Principal, Holy Trinity Catholic School, Sarnia

– Steve DeGurse – Principal, Holy Trinity Catholic School, Sarnia is appointed to Principal, St. Michael Catholic School, Bright’s Grove

– Len Fera – Principal, St. Michael Catholic School, Bright’s Grove is appointed to Principal, St. Anne Catholic School, Sarnia

– Daniela Mezzatesta – Principal, St. Anne Catholic School, Sarnia is appointed to Principal, Gregory A. Hogan Catholic School, Sarnia

Vice Principal Assignments:

– Lisa Walker – Vice Principal, St. Joseph Catholic School, Corunna is appointed to 0.5 Vice Principal, St. Anne Catholic School, Blenheim and 0.5 Vice Principal, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School, Chatham

– Tamara Johnson – 0.5 Vice Principal at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Sarnia and 0.5 Vice Principal, St. Matthew Catholic School, Sarnia is appointed to 0.5 Vice Principal, St. Matthew Catholic School, Sarnia and 0.5 Vice Principal, St. Joseph Catholic School, Corunna

“St. Clair Catholic has outstanding school administrators,” Crawford said.

“I know these fine Catholic leaders will be welcomed by their new school communities, as they bring their many gifts and talents to serve the students and families of their new schools.”

Crawford also paid tribute to Liz Bujaki, who retires after nearly 30 years as an educator.

“We will miss Liz’s leadership and her absolute devotion to her staff and the students and families she has served,” Crawford said.

“I know that everyone joins me in wishing her a long and happy retirement, filled with God’s goodness and His blessings.”
