Lakers visiting Dresden to battle the Kings

The first ‘Battle of Highway 78’ of 2019 takes place Friday night in Dresden.

The Wallaceburg Lakers will visit the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre to battle the Dresden Kings.

The Lakers and Kings are on the opposite side of the spectrum this season in the Stobbs Division of the Provincial Junior Hockey League.

The Lakers are still winless on the year, with a 0-27-0-2 record.

Wallaceburg does have a couple of exciting games coming up… on January 9, CKXS is covering the cost for the first 200 people from Wallaceburg and surrounding areas, including: Port Lambton, Sombra, Mitchell’s Bay, Tuppervile and Walpole Island. The game against the Blenheim Blades on January 9 starts at 7:30 p.m.

The Lakers also have an upcoming outdoor game on Saturday, January 12 at Lanspeary Park in Windsor. It is a 2 p.m. puck drop against the Amherstburg Admirals. Tickets are $10 each and anyone interested in purchasing some can call Darryl Lucio at 519-365-4615. There will be a limited amount available.

The Kings are sitting in 2nd place overall, with a 24-7-0-2 record, just 5 points behind the first place Essex 73’s.

Puck drops this Friday night in Dresden between the Lakers and Kings at 7:30 p.m.
