Chatham-Kent Police Service officials say with love in the air this week, please do not fall prey to a ‘Romance Scam’
If you’re dating online, please beware of the following warnings signs:
– A quick declaration of love
– A request to go off a dating site and chat via email or cell phone instead
– An area code that is not where the person says they are from
– Request for small gifts, as a test to see if you’re the ideal target
– Request for inappropriate photos, that they can later use to extort money from you
